Baptism Preparation
Prepares parents/godparents for the baptism of their children.
Bereavement Group
Assists those who are suffering or troubled over the death of a loved one. Trained facilitators gently guide the participants through the bereavement journey.
Bible Study
Scripture reflection and faith integration are presented, as well as exploring the Gospels through prayer, study and sharing.
Blood Drive Committee
Organizes and implements the Parish blood drive twice a year.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word
A team of volunteers offer the children of our Parish the opportunity to meet during the Liturgy of the Word to “discuss” the Gospel guided by adult facilitators. Children grades K – 8.
Communications Committee
Our goal is to make known events within the Parish and communicate them through the local media.
Evangelization Committee
Members spread the Good News of Christ by listening, sharing their faith and prayer.
Holy Name Society
To honor the Sacred Name of Jesus, and to assist members’ growth in holiness on their journey of faith.
Faith Formation
Provides parishioners with opportunities to broaden their faith.
Family Life
The ministry coordinates and organizes fun family events and helps with special parish functions.
Homebound Ministry
Eucharistic Ministers bring Holy Communion to the homes of those who are unable to attend Mass due to illness or other circumstances. Prayer groups visit the local nursing homes for Communion Services and recitation of the Rosary.
Knights of Columbus
Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members through educational, charitable, religious, social and public relief works.
Lazarus Ministry
Volunteers meet with families who have recently lost a loved one to assist in planning the funeral liturgy.
Legion of Mary
Visits the sick and elderly, in both nursing homes and assisted living residences, and encourages devotion to Our Lady.
Marriage Prep
This ministry works with newly engaged couples as they prepare for the Sacrament of Matrimony. After the initial meeting with the priest, each engaged couple is required to attend a marriage preparation program coupled with the Diocesan program “God’s Plan for a joy-filled Marriage.”
Men of St. Joseph Prayer Group
Men of our parish (any age) are invited to join us on Mondays from 6:00-7:00am in the Pastoral Center for a morning hour of prayer, readings and discussion. With St. Joseph as our role model, this group hopes to inspire a more faith-focused approach to the workweek and our paternal roles by inviting God in.
Prayer Blanket Ministry
Members pray as they crochet/knit and quilt prayer blankets which are blessed and distributed to the sick or homebound.
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)
Prepares non-Catholic individuals interested in joining the Catholic faith and Adult Catholics who have not completed their sacraments to become full members of the Church. They meet weekly with volunteers who encourage their formation and live their faith fully as teachers.
Respect Life Committee
Directed by the Diocesan Office of Respect for Life. Works to promote a culture of life among parish youth and adults and the broader community.
Rosary Society
Women’s organization dedicated to the works of Mary. This Society sponsors social and spiritual programs and assists in parish functions when necessary. Its various committees oversee planned activities (Communion Breakfast, guest speakers, etc.) Members receive monthly Holy Communion at a Wednesday evening Mass.
St. Vincent de Paul Group
An outreach program that helps people who are in need to get back on their feet.
Samaritan Guild
Members bring the love of Christ to those in local nursing homes through scheduled visits.
St. Thomas the Apostle School
The parish sponsors an elementary school from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Registration begins in February. Information: School (732-251-4812 - Option 2).
Ushers
Assist with the weekly collection during Masses and special events. Along with Greeters welcome worshipers, including visitors.
